Meet Kim
Kim Zlatin is a Board Certified Patient Advocate with more than 20 years of personal and professional experience helping individuals and families navigate complex healthcare challenges.
Her path to advocacy began with a master's degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City and years of experience supporting individuals through difficult life circumstances. However, her commitment to healthcare advocacy became deeply personal when her young daughter was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD).
Like many of the families she serves, Kim found herself navigating specialists, treatment decisions, healthcare systems, and the uncertainty that often comes with a life-changing diagnosis. That experience inspired her to pursue additional training in patient advocacy, including Consumer Health Advocacy certification and training through the University of Wisconsin–Madison's Center for Patient Partnerships.
As a member of the “sandwich generation,” Kim understands the challenges of supporting both children and aging parents. In addition to advocating for her daughter, she helped navigate care for her father, a Vietnam Veteran living with Lewy Body Dementia, including the complexities of the Veterans Administration healthcare system.
Today, Kim helps individuals and families facing new diagnoses, care coordination challenges, insurance denials, and complex medical bills. Her goal is simple: to help clients feel informed, supported, and confident as they navigate the healthcare system and focus on what matters most.
